Building Relationships...
Gosh...It is so incredibly difficult to build relationships- not just those surface level, "How was your day?" relationships, but those "I don't feel the same way you do about that" relationships. When we have convictions about things, behind those convictions are passion and behind the passion is emotion, and when people with different convictions and passions and emotions, discuss, things can get heated pretty quickly. And the ideal situation would be where people are able to discuss without letting their emotions get in the way, but can you ever really separate emotion from passion? And can you ever really separate passion from conviction? So what do you do? I'm learning....slowly...that you push through it. You love and accept love. You talk things out. You say you're sorry when you need to, and you forgive when you need to. Some of the best relationships are birthed out of intense discussions. And after all, isn't that what church is about anyway?
